Woke up early but fell back to sleep and didn’t wake till T brought me tea before he went to work for the morning.
Once up I tidied round a bit and got ready for Mt&H and the kids arriving - lovely clear dry sunny day thank goodness. We chatted about what they’d done yesterday over tea and mince pies then Mt&H set off for their spa break. AR&Mx played with the toys they’d brought and the little things I’d bought them then we went to the local park with their dog Higgs. Bit muddy, but they enjoyed climbing around the equipment and we played What time is it Mr Wolf as we walked (although of course I’d forgotten how to at first!).lots of chat about superheroes and Santa and who can run fastest and school and etc.
Home and T just back with presents for them…dinosaur themed science experiments and a 3D glow in the dark model of the solar system for AR and Minecraft watch, backpack and nightlight for Mx. They loved them…AR immediately started on the dinosaur activities, here excavating fossils from a block of hardened sand, and Mx didn’t take the watch and backpack off all day!
After a late hot dog lunch T went to bed before work again tonight and I took them up to MK city centre to pay the last instalment of my Borneo holiday before we went to see the new Wonka film. Good fun…lots of special effects and fun and, although Mx fidgeted pretty much throughout, they both enjoyed.
Home for pizza supper and Mt&H FaceTimed from their spa suite….very posh! Sounds like they’ve had a lovely day and were just about to get ready to go to dinner. AR&Mx were very excited to tell them all they’d been doing and show them their presents.
Thank goodness they’ve always been good about bed times as I was getting tired by then, but packed them off to bed, AR with a stack of books (and then she discovered Kt’s library of all the sorts of books she loves herself!) and didn’t hear another peep from them.
Had a leftovers Christmas style sandwich for supper having spoken to A earlier who’d done the same for her late lunch, and had a quiet evening watching some catch up TV.
