Snowshoeing and Dinner

Today we went on our first snowshoe trip of this winter. It was hard work because even with snowshoes the first person sank into the snow around 25 cm. It was much easier for the second person so we switched places now and again. On the way home, following the trodden down track it was MUCH easier.
We were out under a mostly blue sky and managed to get far enough up the hill to briefly see the sun, though only for a minute before it sank away behind the next hill (extra). The snow was beautifully soft, and the ground and everything under the snow converted to gentle curves. It felt good to be out in the forest behind our house - that we think of as "our" forest.
Once back home we got washed and changed and headed off to Ruth and Mikael's for a delicious turkey roast dinner. All their (now adult) children were home so it was great to catch up on their doings too.
