Carradice Barley

The latest update to my commuting bike - a Carradice Barley.

It comes with a wee bit of thigh bump but there are several hacks or bodges to set the bag slightly back for this. (pvc pipe wrapped in innertube and threading the seatpost bag strap through this is the one I might attempt).

You can get all manner of racks for these bags. I did have it hanging old school from the Brooks saddle via the leather straps earlier this week. Yesterday I opted for a quick release adapter that goes under the saddle to make removing the bag easier and this is what you see today.

Beautiful evening cycling back from Edinburgh and just managed to meet the family on the Forth Road Bridge at the North side where my daughter had just finished a scoot across the bridge with her Rainbow group. Apparently to the inconvenience of several cyclists.

Random and unpredictable wee girls on scooters changing direction , stopping and starting with no notice. Fortunately no Rainbows or Cyclists were harmed during this.

One nice touch on the subject of the bag again - on the label inside the makers name is handwritten - so thank you Keely for making the bag.
