This Time Last Year

We had completed on the new house 2 days earlier and moved in a year ago today. We didn’t have the dining table as that arrived in January and we had to borrow a table for Christmas lunch which was the first meal we cooked in our new home! The run up to Christmas a year ago was certainly different!

This year we have been a lot more relaxed albeit I finished school later than normal. We picked up the meat and veg that have been on order and paid for since October on Friday and preparations to host both mums and our step dads for the first time ever are nearly complete. We lived in the Midlands for over 20 years hence not being able to host Christmas, in fact some of our early Christmas Days were spent apart. This year really is a milestone. The lovely R and I have been together 24 years in January and R’s mum and stepdad are 86 & 93 respectively. It’s going to be a special day!
