Pohutukawa tree …..

….. ….. ….. flowering beautifully, on Mt Albert. These trees are often referred to as our Christmas trees.

I flew up to Auckland this morning, and was met by #2 son. We eventually arrived at his place after some necessary supermarket shopping for him, driving through torrential tropical rain! The heavens really opened. I think there’s a weather watch out for Auckland!

H. & I took his dog Otto out late afternoon, after it seemed as though the rain had stopped. Needless to say, we got drenched.

What a day! It’s great being here though and I’m looking forward to the next few days.
