It's Snowing - and a lot more than expected

Last night, as forecast, it started snowing. A little snow was supposed to trickle down for the next couple of days, giving  us about 10 cm of new snow. But when I raised the blind this morning there was a lot more new snow! Härnösand was on the national news because the unexpected downpour of snow was causing a degree of havoc. The municipality put out a message saying they were working on clearing the snow, but it was going to take a while before anything other than major roads was cleared. This means if you live on a residential street you're not going anywhere today!
However, out here in the countryside the local snow clearers got to work. Rickard, our neighbour, was out at lunchtime, clearing our drive up past our front door. Normally it does it in one swift sweep but today he was back and forth about 5 times, taking a little more snow each time. The blip shows pass 2 I think.  I noticed a bus going by soon after so I know the road through the village was clear too. We then went out to do our bit in the white gym. Clearing away the snow immediately by the front door, working our way down to the cellar, and digging out the kayak tent. We finished off by digging out the car, just in case we need to go somewhere.
By then it was dark and I was fairly damp. It's only minus 2C, so my body heat was melting the snow of my jacket, and my hair was covered in melting snow (too warm working for a hat). I happily headed in for a shower and a change of clothes.
Our original plan was to ignore the light snowfall and tramp down our snowshoe path one more time, but once we got outside and saw just how much snow there was that plan was cancelled for more urgent work. So the snowshoes just sat there under their cap of new snow (extra).
After all that work, clean and freshly clad, a glass of something and a relaxing evening!
