Chester

We left the hotel near Knutsford after breakfast and headed to Chester for a visit to the cathedral. But first a detour and a trip down memory lane to the road we lived on from 1995 to 2000 in Cheshire when the boys were very little. Happy memories!

This statue is in the cathedral garden: unusual illuminated glass bugs which would be very attractive at night.
The cathedral has a Christmas tree festival and I spotted one decorated by the boys’ primary school :)

Then we headed to Colwyn Bay to have lunch with my mum’s cousin V and his wife C. We’ve seen them a few times in the last few years and every time is a pleasure. Such interesting well versed people. Funny to think as a child they were the next generation as peers of my parents but in reality C is only 18 years older than me!

Now at our holiday home for a few days- a walk to the pub, dinner at the house and lots of convivial conversation.
