Bo'ness In the Snow And The Black Bun Express

Driving down to Bo'ness I could see it wasn't going to be a lovely sunny day for an outing. Got parked up un quite snowy conditions and hung about for the 'Black Bun Express' to pull in. Happily the snow didn't last all that long but there was a very bitter wind blowing and I didn't hang around after the train had pulled out.

Black bun, sometimes known as Scotch bun, is a type of fruit cake completely covered with pastry. It is Scottish in origin, originally eaten on Twelfth Night but now enjoyed at Hogmanay. The cake mixture typically contains raisins, currants, almonds, citrus peel, allspice, ginger, cinnamon and black pepper.
