New Year's Eve Woodland Walk.

The Feast Day of Saint Sylvester 1.
Happy New Year's Eve!
The Lord has sent us a beautiful Sunday morning, very cold, 6c, and a delightful blue sky. This is forecast to change by 1pm.
So after the usual morning tasks, I decided to walk to Cut Wood. The Hyndburn Council Parks and Recreation Department have spent £45,000 on our Green Flag Park, to clear away dangerous trees with decay and to improve the main path through the woodland to the reservoir. It is a well loved and well used park. Popular with families with children and dog walkers, it is the oldest park in Rishton and well maintained. The main problem there is the poor drainage. After weeks of rain, the Cut Lane entrance is unusable due to standing water.
The cats are watching the many wild birds in the garden. There are collared doves, pigeons, magpies, starlings and I have seen a robin.
Our neighbour E borrowed our hose to clean his gutters. It is best to do these tasks on a dry sunny day because they are rare.
Later I will follow online Mass from Ireland and watch Songs of Praise.
Thank you for visiting my site blip friends and have a lovely Sunday.
