New Year's Eve

For the first time in ages we went out! We were tipped off they have good 9pm fireworks at Wallerawang, a small settlement of 2500 people about 40 mins west of Blackheath.
It was quite an event with many times the local population gathered on the shores of the small lake. (It was actually a cooling pond for the now closed power station and we used to sail lasers there.)
There were rides and entertainment, food stalls and a local band. Maybe not an outing for the more sophisticated but with no trouble parking or finding a spot to watch and an easy drive home it certainly beat braving the crowds in bigger venues.
Some extras show the general vibe.
Happy New Year Blippers!
