Bringing out the hard hitters

It's that time of the year when you ramp up the vegetables and spices in your diet. Not only because they taste good and there is time to prepare then, but because they are excellent anti inflammatories after the Christmas season.

These are all going into my spiced red cabbage, together with onions and apple. I make a massive amount at a time (because it takes 4 hours to make), then freeze batches for later in the winter.
