Dutch tales

Nearly at the end of 2023

Enjoying a cup of tea with traditional treats (oliebol / appelflap). Watching TV.

During today's dry spell I went out for a walk. I crossed the river and back. Though the river is about twice as broad we're in no danger at all here. The land from dyke to river is wet, but that's due to rainwater, not because the river is flooding. We have two dykes. Near the river is one that's low, a grass dyke called summerdyke. It's no problem if the water crosses that dyke. But the water hasn't even reached the summerdyke yet. So we're good. In other parts of the Netherlands not so. They have to be alert.
