In with the new

Very slow start after our late night, but a bit of a shock for K to hear about the Japanese earthquake since her brother just flew out there a couple of days ago (he’s fine….was in Tokyo which was a long way from the epicentre although they felt it).
Dithered about whether to go down to finish ripping up the carpets and when to set off home, but after chatting to Mt decided to do the carpets tomorrow and head home Wednesday and just chill out a bit today.
Spent what was left of the morning sorting through all the rest of the photos from P’s house….sending copies of relevant ones (like the evidence of Mx being Mt’s double) to my kids, and ones of my brother and family to him. Managed to weed out a lot though, so that was good and cut down on the amount of stuff still in the boot of my car.
Although the day had started bright and sunny for a change, by the time we’d finished that job it was looking dull and grey, but we still set off for a walk to try and get some exercise after what feels like days of being sedentary. The back path was very muddy so we cut through the houses on the redways to first one little shop then another to pick up some things for dinner, and on the way we spotted this little clump of snowdrops….seems very early for them but lovely to see.
Home again…I was feeling really tired by then and could have slept but instead did some research about overpayments on mortgages whilst K made supper then I made a lemon surprise pudding for dessert, the one that makes its own lemon sauce beneath the sponge.
Very quiet evening dozing on the sofa listening to yet more rain battering on the windows.
