Swifts!

8°C  -  7 mph SSW Wind Speed  -  17 Gusts  -  Overcast.  Sifting through 'The Bloodaxe Book of Contemporary Women Poets' edited by Jeni Couzyn I came across 'Swifts' by Anne Stevenson.  This stanza particularly attracted me  -  it describes perfectly the flight of Swifts photographers love to portray:)
'Yes, yes,' screamed the swifts. 'We abhor rest.
We detest the filth of growth, the sweat of sleep,
Soft nests in the wet fields, slimehold of worms,
Let us be free, be air!'
