Winter flowers

In the last week my winter flowering honeysuckle has kick started its flowering season. In a week or two the whole shrub will be covered in fragrant white blooms that will attract any wide awake bees. Winter fragrance is one of my guiding principles in the garden - it may be the only one now I come to think of it. It’s such a treat on a gloomy wintery day to go outside and be enveloped in their perfume.

In weather news, the river has over topped into every field for miles around, and it’s raining hard again tonight after a lovely dry day. Very much hoping the flood defences hold out until the worst is behind us. The extra shows a nearby row of houses with their cars stranded on driveways. The road through here is completely covered in water.

Thank you very much for recent stars, hearts and lovely comments. All very much appreciated.
