Changing weather

Gavin was up early and got the first lift up the mountain at 8am to go skiing. The forecast was for snow later on, and he wanted to get in some skiing before it started snowing. However the light was not great and it is difficult skiing in flat light where everything is just a whiteout, and he was back down again by late morning.

I took Xena for a walk and play in the snow - she found some interesting smells beneath there snow and was digging her way down - see extra!

Later I met a friend in the village for coffee. We had a good catchup and enjoyed a couple of coffees before returning home again. By now the weather was closing in. I took a photo of Madrisa mountain, where you can see the ski lift. It looked mono when it was in fact in colour so I decided to process it as a mono image.

I made breakfast (overnight oats) and lunch for our car journey home tomorrow. We have been tidying up and packing stuff away in preparation for our departure very early tomorrow morning. Packing to go home is always so much easier than packing to go away, isn't it? Now we have to face the long journey home again. I have not known which day of the week it is since Christmas, all that changes as we get back to reality again.

Very sad to hear that Derek Draper (Kate Garraway's husband) has died today. He was one of the first public victims to suffer from significant post Covid complications and had never recovered.
