Greenfinch in the gloom

My only shot of the day was of a couple of greenfinches in the back garden at 09.43am. The clouds were heavy and there was a thick mist making everything rather gloomy but it did brighten up by lunchtime. By that time I was out for lunch with my eldest daughter having starters and mains in a favourite Italian restaurant of her’s. The place was packed and we ate far too much but it was a wee treat for her before starting work in a new ward tomorrow which is opening to cope with the large numbers of winter respiratory diseases that are currently circulating!
