On our walk

A slightly frosty start to the day but it soon cleared so off Mr HB went to pursue his passion for any sort of aviation and it was suitable for model flying today.

Having prepped tonight's dinner I joined friend Karen with her super dog Gem for a walk by our local stretch of the Shropshire Union Canal.  Here's Gem posing in front of one of my favourite views up to Bridge 63 with smoke rising from a cosy fire in a narrow boat and the bare Winter trees.  We were joined half way by another friend Jan and continued on our walk.  There's a new Cob Swan on the block and we saw him with a Pen and hope they will pair up and raise a family this year.  Apparently there were no cygnets last year.  In my first extra the pair are grateful for the daily visit from a lovely elderly gentleman who brings proper food to them and the resident Mallards;  quite of few males of which were already performing top dog drake displays trying to impress the only three ladies?!!  Further up the canal I spied a lone Mandarin drake, looking fine and dandy.

I've walked quite a few steps today, and am feeling it already!

Extras: Feeding the Swans, the Mandarin, Diving in and having a tidyup.
