Packing

A couple of books I won't get around
to reading. Earphones, for two nights away
not sleeping. (I'll seek the soothing sound
of music to still my mind as I lie

full of thought on a bed that's not my own).
Pants. Socks. Shirts. Notebook. My special pen.
Pyjamas. Trousers. Medicines. Mobile phone.
Hat. Razor. Charger. Boots for if or when

we go on a long and muddy walk. Sun
glasses. Some spare specs just in case
I sit on my main pair or our host's 'fun'
pup chews them! Bad ! Naughty! Pack stern face.

Flowers. Chocolate. Wine. (Expect we'll get pissed).
Now check checklist. Has anything been missed?
