Talisker

A fairly lazy day planned that went nicely to plan.

With the sun still shining (I told you we always got lucky with the weather on Skye) we rolled up to the Talisker distillery (in Carbost rather than Talisker, though Talisker is only a few miles away). After a nip (at far too early an hour), a tour, and a trip to the distillery shop (yes, a purchase was made), we continued north for lunch at the Three Chimneys.

It's been a while since we've eaten there and it was as good as ever, and a relaxed atmosphere that has been present every time we've visited.

Further north, to the extreme north-westerly point of the island, Neist Point to be exact, and a short walk to the lighthouse where, unlike 99% of visitors we always turn right onto rocks atop a clifftop crevice.

Clambering down a little way we can sit undisturbed in the sun watching the seascape unfold with gannets and comical black guillemots flying past.

At times like this I can never miss the city.
