Chili Cook-off On A Chilly Evening!

The 55+ group had our annual chili cook-off tonight. accompanied by sides and desserts.  It was a good night for eating a hot dish as it was chilly outside, as well.  After we awarded prizes for two of the entries, we watched a short film on the life of one of the most prolific hymn writers of all time, Fanny Crosby.  Blinded by a failed medical procedure as a baby, she had a sharp mind and a gift for poetry.   She also had a heart for the people she came in contact with.  She didn't have an easy life, but through her experiences, she ended up writing the lyrics for many hymns we know and love today, such as "Blessed Assurance" and "To God Be The Glory".  It was a truly uplifting and inspiring story.  The collage is busy, but there was a lot of food, fun and fellowship Happening at FBC tonight!
