Loughrigg Fell 1101 feet

From Ambleside : 1050 feet of ascent. 2,5 miles from the main car park. First climbed by us in November 1971.
Photographed here from the edge of the town.

Wainwright says : “ Of the lesser heights of Lakeland Loughrigg Fell is pre-eminent. It has no pretension to mountain form, being a sprawling, ill shaped wedge of rough country rising between the park-like valleys of Brathay and Rothay………. No ascent is more repaying for the small labour involved …. “

A most enjoyable sight having spent the first half of the morning having excess wax vacuumed out of my ears. I cannot do what I am told unless I can hear what Mrs. K. tells me.
