Tarsan

The Tartan Dam , between Glendaruel and Dunoon, holds back Loch Tarsan a 273 acre loch created by flooding parts of Glen Tarsan and Glen Lean in 1951.    It provides water for the Cowal Hydro Electric Power Scheme , the generating house for which is on the shore of Loch Striven but it  is also one of the lochs stocked by, and fished by, the very active  Dunoon and District Angling Club . 

The  combination of the  winter landscape and the reservoir tower caught my eye as I drove past today.
