Headstone!

This can be found on Scaw Road, a back road near me.  The road was called Scaw Lonning, a farm track.  This the headstone of farmer Joseph Thompson, who after arguing with the vicar, was buried on his land with his severed thumb.  It was the thumb that caused the argument!  The full story can be found on Google.  I entered Scaw Road headstone.  It now rests next to the road having being moved from the field behind the hedge.  I have walked this road many times pushing  pram, but wouldn't do so now as it is busy, more so now when one of the main roads into Workington is closed to traffic whilst roadworks are completed.
Have a good weekend (and if you read Goggle, don't have nightmares!!!!)
