The Cat Sat On The Mat

In a minimalistic window display, in a rug shop, in Beaconsfield today.

We met daughter#1 and family for Sunday lunch, as a late birthday treat for mrsfb. The restaurant service wasn't great, particularly in view of the prices, but we got a surprise at the end of the meal when the waitress said because of the slow service there would be no charge for the food today, just the drinks. Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch.

We played games while we waited anyway. One of the quiz questions was 'what is said to be a conspiracy of, or an unkindness of?' Answer - ravens, not grandads which was Rory's answer.

Somebody had chocolate pancakes for dessert (first not great quality extra) and then we saw them off on their train back into London (second even worse quality extra). At the station we realised that mrsfb had lost a bracelet she had been wearing. So we retraced our steps back to the restaurant and luckily found it on the floor under the table we had been sat at.

Back home now, tired, but not hungry.
