Nuts about flowerpots

Squirrelling away
For a rainy day.

A neighbour said they had seen red squirrels burying nuts in a flowerpot so I decided to watch this wee guy today. Sure enough after he stuffed peanuts in his mouth he scurried away and went straight to a big plant pot in the garden.
 
What to do? Accept squirrels have expensive tastes (peanuts don’t come cheap) and its in their nature to prepare for a rainy day or reduce their daily ration?
