Where the light doesn't reach

Walking out today and noticing the patches of frost where the sunlight at this time of year never quite reaches. The lake near work was frozen over and the frost crackled under my feet as I walked along the edge of it.

This is what winter should feel like - proper cold that is uncomfortable while you're in it but in hindsight you look back on as a good, real winter.
