What struck my fancy

Templeborough

power station, viewed from the heights of Boston Park in Rotherham, south Yorkshire, late afternoon. I was visiting the town for a committee meeting of the Rotherham Grammar School Old Boys' Association. Our grammar school, originating in 1483, ceased to exist in 1967 and was replaced by Thomas Rotherham College. Our association has therefore had no new members since then - that is - for some 56 years. The demographics are painfully obvious.

I have the dubious distinction of editing our newsletter and a standing item is, you've guessed it -  our obituary section :( - along with various contributions from our Old Boys.. And yes, we are also giving thought as to how to gracefully wind up the association, we reckon over the next 10 years.

Our handsome building is shown in the extra which I took last March when we had to postpone our annual dinner because of adverse weather.
