Goldfinch

I finally got a shot of one! We have up to three of these beautiful birds visiting the new feeder in recent weeks - but they rarely stay still long enough to get a photo of them.

Today was my lucky day - the sun was shining between the houses (around 3 pm, so still quite bright) and lighting up this bird on the feeder - the colours of the feathers were really glowing!!

He - (now I am taking a punt here, based on the amount of red above and behind the eye) - certainly has a beak full of sunflowers hearts!
