Sir Walter Scott

Swim first; air temperature about 4C, streets still freezing; testing footing for ice in places.

Out again in the late morning for a meeting at the Portrait Gallery. @Wildwood quoted Sir Walter Scott yesterday, and here he is.

by Sir Francis Chantrey : marble, sculpted 1828

".. In 1828, Chantrey presented the original marble version to Scott, which is now on display at Abbotsford - Scott's home in the Scottish Borders. This bust appears to be a copy made in the same year. "
