Portobello Beach Edinburgh Day 298

Another Porty Beach installation. A wonderfully woven wicker boat without a bottom. Weighed down by two pieces of substantial driftwood spars replicating the rowlocks. A dreamcatcher at its stern. Abandonned on the highwater mark for the passing world to enjoy, wonder about and admire its craftsmanship (pun intended!).
There were plenty potential spectators this morning as the regular rowers were out training, the Sunday dookers having cast off their wetsuits were swimming as if they were in the Mediterranean and a large crowd of supporters was assembling for the Portobello Running Club's Sunday running match. The adults were doing four miles along the sands and the youngsters, under 13, doing a mile on the Promenade.
Just out of view the superstructure of the Grand Mistral Cruise ship could be seen towering over the buildings at Leith where she had stayed overnight. Later she was seen following the deep water channel off the Fife coast en route for Invergordon. She made an impressive sight with a full compliment of UK passengers ,who don't like flying to their cruises, and were setting off from Edinburgh today.
Still too much cloud to see the super moon - maybe this evening? Today is full moon for us at 1233 and moonrise here is at 2143 BST.
