From Azerbaijan to Stirling

After lunch with some old friend in the Stirling Museum café today I did a quick recce for a a group photo of us (see extra). That’s when I came across six young women from Azerbaijan.

What brought them to this wee museum on a dreich January afternoon, surely the fame of this wee museum had not spread that far?

No indeed. It was Stirling castle, the second most visited castle in Scotland after Edinburgh.

They are all post graduate students at Glasgow university doing a variety of subjects-four studying inclusive education , one maths and one and food security.

Photo: Shahla/ Ilaha/ Mashati/ Gulnarain , Shabnam and Zuleykha/ visiting  Stirling today.

PS Where exactly is Azerbaijan? I had to look it up on a map. ( It borders the Caspian sea on the east with Russia and Georgia to the north and Iran and Turkey in the south ).
