The second half of life..

Clover, no bee

Another stifling, 30-plus day.  Fans going, windows open as far as I dare, Minnie hiding out in what's become her preferred hidey-hole.

Visit from N who came to pick up the eggs I collected at L & M's yesterday - lovely to catch up after what seemed a long time.  Off then to give key to someone else to test drive L & M's car then back home to cool down with a long drink and a bit of cricket-watching.  Unfortunately, the NZ boys performance today was anything but inspiring and they failed to reach even 100 runs, let alone chase down the Pakistan total of 134.  Disappointing, but good winners occasionally need reminding how much losing hurts!

Tennis tonight again.....some great match-ups coming up.

On the Minnie front, when the temperature started to drop a tad late this afternoon I thought it was a good opportunity to see how she coped with a little freedom.  Her ears pricked when she heard the cat-flap unlocking and it didn't take very very long at all for her to figure out she could get out.  She wandered the section checking things out and I was pleased to see her resting quite happily in one of her preferred early-evening spots a while later.  I'll keep close checks on her paw pad over the next few days but I'm confident now that she's good enough to be allowed out regularly.  It's been a l-o-n-g journey.

This clover flower - one of far too many in my lawn - was selected as the base subject but I gave up waiting for a bee to visit.  Nice to spend time just waiting though ;)
