Truly Blippin' Marvelous

El Rio

Here it is with the moniker.

The Boys in the Boat : The short review : the movie serves as a primer or Cliff notes for the book. My one quibble with the movie is that it does not convey the tension at the beginning of an eights race with coxswains keeping a hand raised until their boat is straight and crew at the ready before the start . . . and puzzlement in the train scene with a British locomotive and rolling stock? I saw in the credits that there was a British production company involved. Even though we know the out come the cinematic story (true love story) is convincing. But still read the book.

I was unaware that Greek film director Yorgos Lanthimos bought the film rights to Alasdair Gray's Poor Things (1992) many years ago. Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos appeared in an interview together on this morning's CBS Sunday Morning.
