Oh Dear!

Just before I went away I loaded a length of moulding in the car.  Normally they are 2 metres long and just fit.  This length was longer and when I shut the tailgate it broke the windscreen with this spectacular pattern..

Fortunately the bulk of the cost of fixing this was covered by insurance and I took the car to Autoglass in Coventry this morning.  The repair engineer knew exactly how I had done it and said it was a very common scenario.
