After the storm

Storm Isha rattled through last night and so far there is little if any damage around here.

 But 10 miles further north it’s a different story.  Met a friend in the swimming pool who has been out of her house for over a week with burst pipes and last night they had a power cut too.

This afternoon I had to go to the Post Office in Dunblane, we no longer have one in Bridge of Allan, and I found myself standing in a long queue of more than a dozen people.

Why so busy on a Monday afternoon? it’s worse than Christmas.
Then I notice the postman carrying parcels of every shape and size out to his van.

Suddenly it clicks. Online shopping. Folk had the weekend to try on stuff and now they are returning it.
The owner confirmed it. “It’s always like this on Mondays”.
