Dereliction in Cockermouth

About two years ago a large crack appeared in this grade 2 listed building.

The owner decided to put it up for auction with a reserve of £1 ( Yes! One pound ). At auction it went for almost £60, 000!

The building has been empty ever since the auction. Every time there is bad weather the crack gets bigger…and now the roof has given way!

Cumberland Council has issued an order to the owner that work must begin immediately…

I took this blip as part of the Dereliction Challenge this week.
