Checking the Pork Freezer

Thisis the 'shed' inside our barn, and was probably a small cattle shed way back int he day. The stones making the wall on the right were likely partly recovered stones sold by roup in the mid-1800s, when the old Saline Kirk was taken down to build the new one (which is now also the old one).

Some of the barn may well date from much further back, given there's been a farm here since at least the mid-1600s (not got maps detailed enough going back further, but there's research there to be done); though the corrugated iron roof and breeze block stables are somewhat more up to date.

Wind's picking up though, so come back inside where there's less likely something going to go flying while I'm out there working...
