Asterix

Our last day in Rome was bright and sunny and increasingly hot.
We had 11am tickets for Villa Borghese, a great white square building in a fantastic park that was built with the intention of it being a museum. You get two hours to look around and then you get kicked out, this worked out perfectly - we'd had our fill of culture after 60 minutes, I enjoyed the scultures, Bernini's David especially but the paintings...not my cup of tea!
Lunch was in Piazza Navona - pizza and salad and a cooling fan, then we meandered our way back to the hotel, calling in at Giolitti's for ice cream (chocolate and pistachio for me and vanilla and caramel for Mr K) and then a bar for a drink.
This is an obelisk that stands in Piazza Montecitorio, you're lucky there's no ice cream in the shot, it was tricky trying to hold the camera, lens cap and the almost finished cornet and focus...multitasking to the extreme.
