Red kite...almost there!

This is possibly my best capture of one of the many Red Kites (Milvus milvus)that circles Didcot (Oxfordshire, UK), however I realise that I should have set the camera to manual mode to give me better control. In this instance, I used shutter priority as I wanted a fast shutter speed (although to be honest Red Kites generally soar gracefully by and so maybe this was not necessary). I definitely needed a larger depth of field as the head is out of focus being slightly closer than the plane of the body and wings.

I will try again when the opportunity arises.
