Video Mapping, Monumento a la Revolución.

This was as esciting as it got for us. Sandra had heard about his amazing light show that was going to display animated projections onto El Monumento a la Revolución.

It was scheduled to start at 7 pm, but by 9 pm, we were still waiting for the countdown from 200 (to what, I've no idea!) to kick off. I wondered round quickly and this was the best of my hastily-taken lot.

It took 20 mins to climb down to just 176 with really low quality (and not very well focussed) photos appearing for each number counted down. The people may have been missing people or somehow affected by one of the many social injustices that afflict Mexico. It wasn't too easy to figure out the exact purpose of it all.The pumping (and not altogether unpleasant) house music not clarifying things any further.

Nor the assembled dancers, nor the amassed jugglers and hula-hoopers, nor the mobile phone company, showing off new phones during the display (seen in photos taken by a friend who mad the mistake of enduring it to the end!).

It was just as well we had friends to meet at a lovely restaurant, we'd never been to before. So off we popped to Belmondo in nearby Condesa. The food was great, I had a succulent brisket sandwich slathered in caramelised onions, Gouda cheese and beef gravy. Gorgeous!Sandra had a lovely lentil with bacon salad.

Everyone else's food seemed just as good too. It's definitely somewhere I will be coming back too.

Good chat and company rounded off a highly enjoyable and eventful day.
