Snake guy

He had this big python which he was prepared to let you put around your neck (needless to say, I didn’t) and a rather cross cobra. He seemed a nice guy, caring of the snakes and looked like someone who eats well and doesn’t do too badly. Most people up here live very hand to mouth, so I guess whatever works.
Great day, we went to Trincomalee Fort, which was quite a palaver to get in and glad we had someone to sort it for us. It’s still very much a live naval base so they are quite fierce about who goes in and what you do. The museum has a lot about the war with the LTTE (Tamil Tigers) and all very interesting. Then to hot springs, very busy on Poya day (Full moon, Buddhist holiday). We entered the hot springs for 25p each and saw the snake guy on the way back. So much stuff I couldn’t get photos of - deer asleep at the side of the road in downtown Trinco, hundreds of yards of rice laid out to dry on the main road - but have laid down memories.
