Idyllic

Today is a rest/reading day.

Brunch at Siam House run by NZ Kim. It's an idiosyncratic collection of beautiful wooden structures built around a decent sized fish pond, all surrounded by tropical trees (extra). The food is very good, even if the menu is getting predictable :). Kerry has the shakshuka, which is a bit disappointing, but my hash browns (with morning glory and spinach) topped with poached eggs is light and tasty.

The afternoon passes around the pool until, all of a sudden, it's cocktail happy hour. I have a piña colada, having been impressed with Kerry's yesterday. It's served in fresh coconut with a glass of coconut water on the side (extra). As you drink the strong, fruity mixture you top it up with coconut water, which makes it feel like a very long drink.

For dinner we walk along the beach to Havana which has, among all the usual offerings, a traditional Indian menu. The naans are amazing, as is the mutton rogan josh and the saag paneer. The daal maharani is OK and the butter chicken goes down well. It's a pricey meal (for Thailand) but there's leftovers for tomorrow.
