Baker’s Dozen Discussion Group this morning. Our member who chose the subject began by playing a DVD of the American singer Peggy Lee performing her hit song of the 1960s “ Is that all there is ?”  He went on to explain that the origin of the phrase could be traced to the writings of the German novelist Thomas Mann.
Our discussion went on the explore the nature and limits of the uniquely human qualities of intellectual curiosity.
