Who am I?

Are these plovers? I came across these birds....maybe about 50..altogether on the beach this afternoon. Extra was a surprise as they suddenly started flying so I just pointed the camera and hoped! Some have shorter orange bills and others are like the ones in this image.  What a delight! 
Tennis this morning and then, as it was such a lovely day, I went for a 'blip'walk along the beach. So many images to choose from. I hope you like them.
