Willow basket

Made at another workshop at the Old Barn. It's a bit wonky, and the bigger I made it, the wonkier it got. Never mind, it is hand made of course; in fact, all woven willow is hand made as so far, no one has invented a machine that can do it. It was pretty cold today and there wasn't a lot of heating as it's important that willow doesn't dry out (it's pre-soaked and you also spray it with water as you go). I kept warm enough while weaving, but it was good to get home to a warm flat.

I'm glad to say that the drainage problem was sorted with this morning - my downstairs neighbours dealt with the drainage company so I could go to the workshop. Hopefully the problem won't recur.
