Frozen Lac Tanay …

… was today’s objective but driving up to the start of this walk we had to stop the car, looking down into the valley at the extra. I still can’t decide which I should blip. We saw chamois and bouquetin above the frozen lake. At one point I showed Lucy my gymnastics on snow shoes, face planting going down a frozen slope, my rucksack over my head, my flask doing the Cresta Run into the forest. I don’t do snow shoes! We both put our crampons on after that! I am now exhausted but happy after a sore walk down to the car. I seem to have blisters from my old climbing boots. Rarely has the bath water felt so good on arriving back home!
