Food for Visiting Reindeer

Another sunny day - that's two in succession - so went for a walk in the country park & forest at Brandon. One area of forest was clear-felled many years ago & fenced off so that it's reverting to Breckland heathland again. It's mainly heather with occasional small birches, plus the reindeer lichen which is most obvious at this time of year and which is the subject of this Blip. The Norfolk Wildlife Trust which manages the area occasionally puts Highland cattle in for grazing & there are various deer out in the main forest, but no reindeer - though there were a couple who escaped from a Christmas display in nearby Elveden, causing chaos on the A11 last December. .
