SILLY SATURDAY AT LEIGHTONS

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Leighton here - and I am so excited because today we went to one of our favourite places in Old Town - Leightons!

Debbie, a Blip friend of Mrs. HCB , wanted to know the name of Mrs. HCB’s optician and of course, she recommended Leightons in Old Town, so I got the chance to choose some of the Silly Saturday Gang to come with me.

It was very hard to choose because the ones that are left here - that is the ones who didn't go to Australia with Kevin the Koala - all wanted to come, but I told them that Mrs. HCB wouldn't be able to carry the bag if we all went - mainly because Mr. HCB is staying at home and is hoping to watch some rugby on the television or some cricket - whatever there is on this afternoon.

Mrs. HCB went early because she wanted to go into her favourite charity shop in Old Town, DEBRA and you might guess she bought something - a lovely scarf and also a book for Mr. HCB.  She was chatting to Sarah, the Manager and another volunteer, and was nearly late to meet her friend at Leightons.

However, all was well and we had a good time - that might be because Mrs. HCB bought some biscuits for the staff - and I think they all enjoyed the white chocolate digestives - they didn’t share them with us, but we understand they are very good!

I have to tell you that Mrs. HCB did a lot of rearranging - but they expect that when we go into Leightons and you know what she’s like.  You can see Debbie, Mrs. HCB’s Blip friend at the top left wearing some very nice blue glasses;  we don’t think she chose them but it was good fun anyway.  Seb, the lady who was looking after Debbie was very patient and again, told us all that we could go in there at any time.

When Mrs. HCB had packed us all into the bag ready to come home, she stood the bag near the window when twin girls stood outside looking in - they were both wearing glasses, so what did Mrs. HCB do - she took every one of us out of the bag, pressed us up against the window and jiggled us around which made the two little girls laugh.  They were actually coming into the shop, so enjoyed seeing us close up - their Daddy said they were a handful but never made any fuss about wearing their glasses.  The things that Mrs. HCB gets up to - she is a nutcase very kind lady and chatted to the little girls while their Daddy chose some glasses!

So now we are back home and Mrs. HCB is well chuffed - she has walked the most steps since her back surgery - and has totted up 6,754!  It is now all very quiet - Mr. HCB is reading and Mrs. HCB is about to cook a meal for them both - I wonder if we can be of assistance?  We will offer anyway and see what happens.

Don’t forget what we always tell you, BE KIND, because you never know what someone else is going through and your kindness could make all the difference to them.

Love to you all from Leighton and the Silly Saturday Gang xxx

P.S.  Sadly, although we saw Wendy, Lauren, Adam and Seb, Kate, the Manager, has just gone on holiday so the chances of her getting a biscuit when she gets back are NIL!
