Putting in the hours

After a quiet morning on the Big Garden Bird Watch, 5 sparrows, 2 goldfinches, 1 blackbird, 1 blue tit, 1 pigeon, 1 Robin, 1 black cap... I discovered a likely reason at lunchtime - a male Sparrowhawk sat on the fence, the second time I've seen a sparrowhawk in the garden, last time a female, this time a male. Exciting from an ecosystem perspective, an ethical quandary as the feeder of our garden birds...

A sunny afternoon meant the owl field beckoned, alas the owls decided not to follow their pattern of earlier in the week and kept well away from the lens so a tiny in the frame stonechat was the best I managed. Good to catch up with Hillyblips and some of the other regulars - a lovely community united by our owl addiction.
